Move Quickbase records through
a secure API boundary.
Zaptiva builds Quickbase REST integrations for records, schema, files, users, groups, audit data, and connected business systems.

A table name is for people; an API needs durable identifiers.
Quickbase REST requests identify the realm, app or table, fields, and authorization context. Record operations use field IDs and typed value envelopes; upsert can match the key field or another supported unique field and may return line-level errors even when the HTTP request succeeds.
What Quickbase APIs
is built to manage.
Quickbase provides REST and supported HTTP/XML APIs for working with apps, tables, fields, records, files, users, groups, reports, audit data, and solution definitions. REST requests are realm-scoped and use durable application, table, and field identifiers rather than display names alone.
Zaptiva uses those interfaces to create governed synchronization, migration, reporting, and lifecycle workflows. The design accounts for typed field values, permissions, batching, query strategy, file handling, rate and plan limits, and record-level errors that may appear inside an otherwise successful response.
Record synchronization
Query, add, update, upsert, and delete records with stable merge keys, bounded batches, and field-type-aware mappings.
Schema automation
Inspect and manage applications, tables, fields, and selected solution definitions where the API and plan support them.
Files + platform data
Exchange attachments and work with users, groups, audit events, and reports under explicit authorization.
Integration services
Place secrets, throttling, transformation, logging, retries, and reconciliation in a protected server-side boundary.
Realm-scoped REST + field-aware mapping
Zaptiva discovers schema, stores IDs separately from display labels, uses server-side credentials, and interprets both HTTP and record-level results.
RESTful API
HTTPS endpoints support app, table, field, record, file, user, group, audit, and platform operations with standard status codes.
User + temporary tokens
Server integrations use protected permanent tokens; authenticated client utilities can use temporary tokens. Tokens never belong in browser code.
Upsert + query
Upsert uses a key or supported unique field; query and modified-since patterns support incremental reads and reconciliation.
Every movement has a source, a rule, and a result.
The workflow is designed for auditability and recovery—not just a successful demo.
Discover schema
Capture realm, app/table IDs, field IDs, types, keys, and permissions.
Transform
Convert source values into the exact Quickbase field-type representation.
Upsert
Send bounded batches using a stable merge field and idempotency rules.
Inspect
Evaluate HTTP status, metadata, and line errors before acknowledging source records.
The records teams
actually work with.
Scope is confirmed against the installed edition, modules, permissions, and current vendor interface before build.
Built to survive real operations.
Technical decisions stay visible to finance, operations, and IT.
Server-side secrets
Permanent user tokens are encrypted and never embedded in client-side scripts.
Field-type validation
Users, dates, relationships, files, and formula fields are mapped according to API behavior.
Partial-error handling
A successful HTTP response does not hide line errors; failed records are isolated and replayable.
Put the connection
to useful work.
Choose a focused operating problem, prove the flow, and build from a reusable foundation.
What teams ask
before the build.
Practical answers for architecture, compatibility, deployment, and ownership.
Can the API update formula fields?+
No. Quickbase documents that derived/formula field values can be returned but not written; the integration updates the source fields that drive the formula.
Should a token be placed in JavaScript on a public page?+
No. Quickbase explicitly advises that permanent user tokens should not be stored in client-side scripts.
